Meet the Team
Alister - Managing Director
Alister founded the company over 35 years ago as a mobile DJ. As he learned more about what created a great experience, he became passionate about producing great sound, so invested in audio solutions and evolved the business into SouthWest Audio. This enabled further expansion into power, lighting, video and staging solutions to form what is now SWG Events.
He now plays a large part in Production, Site Design and Event Management for a number of our clients.
Mark - Operations Manager
Mark joined the company full time in 2002 after working for SWG as a freelance sound engineer from 1998. As a freelance engineer Mark looked after bands and artists that the younger crew have never heard of!
With a very wide knowledge of all elements of live event production he manages our operations team to ensure we deliver the highest standards to all our clients.
Mark loves DIY, a tidy desk and Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Kellie - Company Secretary
Kellie is the longest standing employee of the company and has been here since the beginning. Not only does she look after the pennies, but she looks after everyone here. The true company mum. She is an amazing baker and all employee birthdays are a treat!
Among Kellie’s passions are her horses, she is a very accomplished dressage rider and the company is very proud to sponsor her team.
Kimberley - Head of Finance
Kimberley is the absolute queen of Excel. Since she joined the business, she has revolutionised the way in which we control all the financial aspects of the company.
We have all become much better at raising purchase orders with her around!
Coming from her motherland of Scotland, we have slowly overcome the mix of west country and Scottish accents in the office.
She loves travelling the world with her family and can be found diving in exotic waters.
Simon - Head of Audio
Joining us in early 2022, Simon looks after all things audio. Coming from Product Support at Martin Audio, his knowledge and skill set continues to prove useful to our Martin Audio product line, as well as systems of all sizes we deliver to clients.
Simon also enjoys getting involved with other departments where he can, especially LED screen. He also thoroughly enjoys Cheese & Chutney.
Joe - Project Co-ordinator
Since coming on board in 2016 as a Freelancer, Joe started by working in the warehouse on prep and engineering on site. This transpired into a full time member of the team in 2019 taking on the warehouse operation while still assisting on site as a multiskilled engineer.
Now as Project Co-ordinator, Joe assists the operations team in the pre-planning of events while still watching over the warehouse operation and slots into roles on site in many disciplines when required.
Joe is also a Steak and Gin enthusiast.
Dan - Event Manager
Also joining us in 2022, Dan has proved to be a huge asset with a very wide skill set. Coming from a production and theatre background, Dan has a wealth of understanding of audio, lighting and video systems as well as wider production disciplines.
He manages a number of our on-site projects to the high standard we hold.
Dan is also an accomplished musician, may be a company band is on the cards!
Fraser - Warehouse & Events Technician
Fraser has been with us since 2017. We say that a show is all in the prep and his role is key to this. Working with the wider warehouse team, he ensures our kit is in top condition before being sent to a job and prepared in a way to support our teams on site, which he also plays a vital role in.
With his skills in Audio & AV, Fraser sits comfortably in a number of engineering roles for a wide range of our events.
Enjoys kayaking and without a shadow of a doubt, the best maker of Memes we have.
Ian - Project Manager / IT Administrator
The jack of all, Ian has worked with SWG in a number of roles over the years. Drawing on a wealth of knowledge across a variety of technical disciplines, he is well suited in his role project managing the on-site delivery for a number of our large events. Ian also takes care of our day to day IT requirements.
On top of that, Ian is a Lecturer at University of South Wales for the Sound, Lighting & Live Event Production subject area and is the key to our long relationship with the course, and its graduates.
He does all this by running on full fat Coca Cola. Diet or Zero are strictly not acceptable.
The most important members of the team are our highly skilled freelancers.
Without them we would not be able to deliver our high standard of production to our clients.
